Shelby Rigmaiden

Shelby Raymond Rigmaiden was born Dec. 27, 1931, and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at the age of 94. Shelby loved spending time hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He enjoyed reloading unique caliber antique guns. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was survived by his daughter, Theresa Myers; son, Tommy Rigmaiden; daughter-in-love, Lacy Gearen Hebert and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Michael Slaydon, Toby Slaydon, Brandy Brunner and husband, Jake, Nelson Myers, Clint Rigmaiden and wife Mandy, Jennifer Langton and husband, Jay, Shelley Pool, Tara Isbell and husband, Shane; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Tom Rigmaiden and wife Phyllis; stepson, Pete Statum and wife, Carolyn; along with numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Chopper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alford Rigmaiden and Montie Foster; daughter, Myra Kay Rigmaiden; one brother; six sisters; and one daughter-in-law, Bessie Rigmaiden.

The family received friends Monday, Mar. 2, from 5 – 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Mar. 3, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service to begin at 10 a.m. The visitation and service was held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Larry Talent, Pastor of Longville Pentecostal Church, officiated. Interment followed at Cole Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
