Johnas Ardoin

Johnas Jermaine Ardoin of DeQuincy died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026.

He was born in Lake Charles and raised in DeQuincy by his grandmother, Emelda Thomas. He was baptized at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church where he was a member of the youth department and drummer for the church choir.

He attended DeQuincy High School and later worked as a track laborer for TracWorks in Sulphur. Over the years, he held several positions at area refineries before moving to Pueblo, Colo. There, he joined New Hope Baptist Church. He worked as a welder in Pueblo.

He resided in both Corpus Christi, Texas and Conroe, Texas. He worked as Automotive Service Manager for Wal-Mart.

Survivors include six children, Sha’Ron Guillory, Precious LeDay, Tre’ona Leday, Johnas Ardoin II, Jacob Ardoin and Canaan Ardoin; one brother, Justin Price; and thirteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cassandra Leday; grandson, Zyreon LeDay; mother, June Price Buckley, and father, Darrell James Ardoin.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 28, at Evergreen Baptist Church of DeQuincy under the direction of James Funeral Home in Lake Charles.
