Former South Beauregard Lady K’s standout Jaclyn Deason has been named the new head softball coach for South Beauregard High School after being an assistant at Merryville this past spring. Deason brings a wealth of knowledge of the game to the table. She’s following in her father’s footsteps as her dad Jack Deason had a lot of success including two State Championships as Head Coach for the Lady K’s in 1999 and 2004.
Jaclyn started playing ball at an early age playing T-ball and then playing tournament ball from age 7 all the way up to junior high and was a 6 year starter for the Lady K’s from 7th grade all the way to her Senior year.
Some of her accomplishments are 12U USSSA Louisiana State Champion, 14U Perfect Game Southwest Nationals top 4, 18U Perfect Game Southeast National Champion, All-District honorable mention her 7th grade year, 5x first team All-District, 3x All-State, 2x All-SWLA big schools, All Academic All State, SWLA All-Decade team 2011-2020. She played at Delta State University for two years and was a 2x Gulf South Conference New Comer of Year and made the All-Conference academic team. She played her Junior year at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville and was an NAIA Academic All-American.
She graduated from LCU with a bachelor of science degree in education. She was previously a CECP coach at South Beauregard before going to Merryville High School where she was recently a special education teacher as well as an assistant softball and cross country coach before accepting the head coach position at her alma mater.
