Robert Newton Lewis was born Oct. 20, 1948, and passed away Monday, Apr. 28, 2025, at the age of 76.
Robert was a man of unwavering faith, a devoted Christian who found guidance in his daily study of the Bible. He found joy in the simple things, preferring the comfort of his home to the bustle of the outside world. A true homebody, he cherished the time spent with his family and found contentment in the everyday moments. He was also a dedicated coffee drinker, finding a moment of peace and quiet with his morning cup. Robert had a green thumb and loved sharing the bounty of his plants with his friends as generous gifts.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Lewis and wife Nina of DeQuincy; and nieces, Rhonda Mejia of Phoenix, Ariz., and Stacey White of DeQuincy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Sarah Lewis; and brother, Reggie Clyde Lewis.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., Sunday, June 1, at First Baptist Church of DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
