Lady Tigers cruise past Grand Lake

On Tuesday, Apr. 22, the DeQuincy Lady Tigers traveled down to Grand Lake to take on the Grand Lake Lady Hornets with a trip to the quarterfinals on the line.

The Lady Tigers’ bats were hot from the get go and stayed hot all evening. They would score 3 runs in the top of the 1st, one in the 3rd, 3 in the 4th, and 2 in the 6th. The Lady Hornets only answer of the game came in the 3rd inning.

Emily Cooley was 1-4, Audi Flower was 2-3 with 2 RBIs, Maddie Vinatieri was 3-4 with an RBI, Onnie Remedies was 4-4 with 4 RBIs, Bryah LeDay was 2-3 with 2 RBIs, and Olivia Oden was 1-4.

Maddie Vinatieri was fantastic in the circle going the distance recording 8 strikeouts.

Lady Tigers’ season ends at LaSalle

On Friday, Apr. 25, the DeQuincy Lady Tigers traveled to Olla to take on the LaSalle Lady Tigers with a trip to the state tournament on the line.

The Lady Tigers would strike first in the top of the 1st inning scoring 2 runs. Unfortunately that’s all the Lady Tigers could get as LaSalle’s relentless hitting attack overwhelmed DeQuincy. LaSalle would collect 18 hits and ultimately run rule the Lady Tigers 17-2 in 4 innings ending DeQuincy’s playoff run.

Audi Flower 1-2, Maddie Vinatieri was 1-2 with an RBI, Onnie Remedies was 1-2, Bryah LeDay was 1-2 with an RBI, and Aubree Royer was 1-1.

We want to congratulate the DeQuincy Lady Tigers on a fantastic season!

South Beau falls to Pine Prairie in quarterfinals

On Friday, Apr. 25, the South Beauregard Lady K’s traveled to Pine Prairie to take on the Lady Panthers with a trip to Frasch Park on the line.

The Lady K’s would strike first in the 1st inning taking a 1-0 lead that would stand up until the bottom of the 5th inning. Then Pine Prairie would hit a solo home run to tie the game up. The game was quickly delayed when a heavy thunderstorm drenched the Pine Prairie area with heavy rain and bad lighting which prompted the game to be relocated to Tioga which is about 45 minutes north of Pine Prairie. The game would resume around 10:45 p.m. at Tioga and Pine Prairie would quickly take a 2-1 lead in the 5th inning then score two more in the 6th as the Lady K’s never had another answer since the 1st inning as they would fall 4-1.

Kenzie Sonier was 1-3, Rylee Henson was 1-2 with an RBI, Addi Daigle was 1-3, and Camryn Jackson was 1-3.

Merryville falls to Oakdale

On Tuesday, Apr. 22, the Merryville Lady Panthers traveled to Oakdale to take on the Lady Warriors with a trip to the quarterfinals on the line.

The Lady Panthers put up a good fight but it just wasn’t enough to overcome Oakdale’s hot bats.

Unfortunately no statistics are available. We do want to congratulate the Merryville Lady Panthers on a great season!

Starks’ season comes to an end at NCS

On Friday, Apr. 25, the Starks Lady Panthers traveled to Crowley to take on the Northside Christian Lady Warriors in the second round of the Class C playoffs.

The Lady Panthers would score early on with 2 runs in the 1st inning. NCS would fire back with back to back strong innings at the plate which would put pressure on the Lady Panthers. They would battle back with 2 more runs in the 4th. However, NCS would keep scoring and forced the Lady Panthers to make mistakes which would ultimately decide the outcome of the game.

Sarah Barrow was 1-4, Tayla Holloway was 1-4, Madelyn Nolen was 3-4, Sadie Barrow was 2-3 with 4 RBIs, and Lexie Hess was 1-3.
