DeQuincy boys win district track championship

On Wednesday, Apr. 23, the DeQuincy Tigers boys and girls track team traveled to Rosepine to compete in the District 4-2A championship meet.

The boys took first place overall with a total team score of 96 points followed by Vinton with 93, Rosepine with 89, East Beauregard with 62, and Pickering with 52.

The girls took fourth place with 48 team points but still performed very well against some tough competition. Around 21 Tiger athletes have qualified for the state regional meet in Lafayette.

Nigle Ceasar, M.J. Clark, Jude Dardar, Kayden Decloutte, Killian Denton, Koseph Dunn, Hayden Hall, Grayson Henderson, Landon Joyce, Lindsey Joyce, Andrew Morlewski, Kayven Morrow, Kendall Rogers, Bethanee Buxton, Kasha Chavez, Leah Dardar, Jada Decloutte, Azhia Griffin, Morgan Kerlegan, Ireanna Marks, and Eva Rogers will all compete in their respective events for a chance to compete in next weekend’s Class 2A state meet at LSU.
