DeQuincy will host LaSalle in second round matchup
The DeQuincy Tigers who are ranked #3 in the Division IV Non-Select bracket will play the #14 LaSalle Tigers Wednesday, Apr. 30, at 5:30 p.m. at Earl Treadway Memorial Field here in town.
LaSalle comes to town fresh off of a first round 11-0 win over the Homer Pelicans.
If the Tigers win this game then they will host in the quarterfinals next week against the winner of Vinton and Logansport.

Hornets crush Northside Christian
On Thursday, Apr. 24, the Singer Hornets traveled to Miller Stadium in Crowley to take on the Northside Christian Warriors in the first round of the Class C playoffs.
The Warriors would score early with a run in the 1st inning. But the Hornets would make a statement in the 2nd inning scoring 5 runs to take a commanding lead which ultimately set the tone for the game. The Warriors would slowly chip away at Singer’s lead over the next two innings but the Hornets would put the dagger in the hearts of the Warriors when they scored 6 runs in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th to win the game by 10 run rule in 6 innings, the final score was 13-3.
Kohlson Moore was 1-4 with 2 RBIs, Aiden Tompkins was 1-4, Kyler Arndt was 1-2 with 2 RBIs, and Dawson Roebuck was 2-3 with 2 RBIs.
Kohlson Moore was fantastic on the mound going the distance only allowing 4 hits and striking out 7 batters!
The Hornets will now travel to the #4 Ebarb Wednesday, Apr. 30, at 5 p.m.

South Beau wins series over Loreauville
On Friday, Apr. 25, and Saturday Apr. 26, the #3 South Beauregard Golden Knights hosted the #14 Loreauville Tigers in a Division III Non-Select best of 3 series and it certainly did not disappoint!
The South Beau faithful were in full force both days of the series and especially on Saturday as the large crowd was a huge momentum boost for the South Beauregard players!
The Tigers took game one on Friday night by a final score of 9-5.
Jed Henry was 2-3, Kade Jackson was 1-3 with an RBI, Luke Brister was 2-3 with 2 RBIs, Alex Baggett was 1-2, and Noah Fontenot was 1-1.
On Saturday, the Knights would win both games by an identical score of 7-0.
In game two Kade Jackson was 1-2, with 2 RBIs, Luke Brister was 1-3 with an RBI, Christian Wold was 1-3 with an RBI, Alex Baggett was 1-2 with an RBI, and Luke Fontenot was 1-2.
Christian Wold threw a near perfect game only allowing 1 walk but allowed 0 hits and recording 7 strikeouts!
In game 3, Kade Jackson was 1-2, Luke Fontenot was 1-2, Christian Wold was 3-3 with 2 RBIs, Cy Barrow was 1-3 with an RBI, Jed Henry was 1-2 with an RBI, and Noah Fontenot was 1-1.
Clayton Folks pitched 2.1 innings and recorded 3 strikeouts, Noah Fontenot pitched 4.2 innings and recorded 6 strikeouts.
South Beau will now host the #6 Berwick Panthers in a best of 3 series starting this Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. (if necessary).

Merryville’s season ends at Lake Arthur.
On Wednesday, Apr. 23, the #17 Merryville Panthers traveled to the #16 Lake Arthur Tigers in the first round of the Division IV Non-Select playoffs.
The game was scoreless for the first 3 innings. Then the Panthers would finally strike first in the top of the 4th scoring a run but Lake Arthur quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning scoring 3 runs. Merryville would get within a run in the 6th. But Lake Arthur would shut the door for good scoring two more insurance runs in the bottom half of the inning and held on to beat Merryville 6-3.
Kanyon Treme was 1-3, Jerimaya Robinson was 1-2, Josh Robinson was 1-3 with 2 RBIs, and Conner Brooks was 1-3.

Starks’ season ends against Reeves
On Thursday, Apr. 24, the Starks Panthers traveled down Highway 12 and 190 to take on Reeves in the first round of the Class C playoffs.
Starks would score first in the top of the 1st inning. Reeves would score 7 runs over the next two innings.
Although the Panthers battled back making it a 1-run game in the 5th, the Red Raiders would keep the Panthers in their rearview as they would pull away from Starks for good in the 6th ending the Panthers season by a final score of 11-6.
Kaison Howard was 1-4, Cody Harrison was 1-3 with an RBI, and Jude Stanley was 1-4.
