Tigers Fall to Notre Dame in Defensive Game
On Wednesday, Mar. 26, the DeQuincy Tigers traveled to Crowley to take on the Notre Dame Pioneers in non district action.
It was an absolute pitcher’s duel as both the Tigers and Pios played complimentary defense. The Pios scored the only run of the ball game in the bottom of the first inning when their four hole hit a line drive into center field scoring a runner from third base. The Tigers came very close to tying the game and taking the lead but Notre Dame’s infield and outfield kept the Tigers honest.
Despite the loss it was a fantastic ball game by two of the best teams in the state of Louisiana!
Carson Rainwater pitched all 7 innings only allowing 4 hits and striking out 12 batters.
Carson Rainwater was 1-2, Nolan Schrader was 1-3, Rahley Royer was 1-3, and Hayz Hext was 2-3.

Tigers roll over East Beau 17-0
On Thursday, Mar. 27, the DeQuincy Tigers hosted the East Beauregard Trojans in District 4-2A action.
The Tigers would only score one run in the bottom of the first inning. However the bats would explode in the bottom of the second as the Tigers would score six runs including a three run homer off the bat of Andrew Dowden which is his third home run of the season.
DeQuincy would score ten more in the bottom of the third which ultimately resulted in the game being shortened by 15 run rule.
Turner Rodriguez only threw 36 pitches in 3 innings and did not allow a hit and struck out 3 batters.
Carson Rainwater was 1-3 with 2 RBIs, Diron Valentine was 3-3, Andrew Dowden was 2-2 with 5 RBIs, Turner Rodriguez was 1-3 with an RBI, Rahley Royer was 3-3 with an RBI, Hayz Hext was 1-2 with an RBI, Grant Rainwater was 2-3 with 5 RBI’s, and Rowdy Griffin was 1-2.

Hornets fall to Hackberry 14-6
On Tuesday, Mar. 25, the Singer Hornets opened up District 5-C action at home against the Hackberry Mustangs.
The Hornets would hold on to a close lead until the 5th inning when Hackberry’s bats came alive and scored 7 runs and two more in the 7th inning to defeat the Hornets.
Aidan Tompkins was 1-4, Kohlson Moor was 3-5 with an RBI, Dawson Roebuck was 1-4, Kaiden Richard was 2-4 with 2 RBIs, and Lawton Hardwick was 1-3 with an RBI.
Hackberry 14, Singer 6
Knights beat St. Louis in 11 innings
On Saturday, Mar. 29, the South Beauregard Golden Knights traveled to Lake Charles to take on the St. Louis Catholic Saints in District 3-3A action.
It was a dandy of a game as two of the top teams in their respective divisions battled it out at Joe Miller Ballpark. Both teams traded a run in the second inning but after that it was all zeros on the scoreboard until the top of the 11th inning. Then Kade Jackson hit a line drive base hit to score Drew Smith from third to take a 2-1 lead. The Knights defense would shut down the Saints in the bottom of the inning to secure the hard earned victory.
Christian Wold pitched 8.2 innings only giving up 4 hits and recording 2 strikeouts, Jed Henry would close going 2.1 innings and only giving up one hit.
Kade Jackson was 1-5 with an RBI, Luke Brister was 1-3, Christian Wold was 1-4, Cy Barrow was 1-2, and Alex Baggett was 1-4.
