Brame is Educator of the Year

Whitnee Brame, Assistant Professor of Medical Laboratory Science at McNeese State University, has been awarded the Educator of the Year title by the Louisiana Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (LSCLS).

A 2005 DeQuincy High School graduate and 2009 McNeese alumna in Clinical Laboratory Science, Brame has spent over a decade in both the clinical and educational fields.

After working in clinical labs for seven years, Brame transitioned to teaching in 2016 as a Lab Instructor and Coordinator of Microbiology Laboratories in the Department of Biology at McNeese. She earned a Master of Science in Instructional Technology in 2020 and became Assistant Professor in Medical Laboratory Science in August 2023.

Brame’s passion for teaching and her commitment to the medical laboratory profession shine through in her work. “I love seeing the spark in students’ eyes as they discover the importance of this field,” she says. “I’m excited to help shape the future of a profession that saves lives.”

This award recognizes Brame’s outstanding contributions to education and her dedication to fostering the next generation of laboratory professionals.
