Versie DeRose, 96, was born Dec. 14, 1928, and passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at her residence in Sulphur.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda DeRose Williams and Denise DeRose; grandchildren, Yvette Barnes and husband Jim, Greg Williams and wife Melissa, Bryan Davis and wife Tina, and Valerie Hampton; great-grandchildren, Mason Barnes and wife Victoria, Jordan Barnes, Isabel Davis, Felix Alexander, Taylor Williams, and Bentley Dawns; great-great-grandson, Hudson Barnes; and nephew, Mike Marien.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John DeRose; parents, Ezra and Amy Marien; and siblings, Alfred Marien, Carol Marien, and Pearl Thibodeaux.
Cremation has been entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
