Robert Jones was born Jan. 30, 1943, and passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at the age of 81. Robert was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. He enjoyed fishing and drinking coffee. He was a painter for many years and loved to work. Robert loved his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Nora Lynette Martin and Russell Jones; grandchildren, Wesley Self, Katie Self, Madison Self (Gary), Kendra Martin (Logan), William Martin (Haylee), Austin Jones (Hailey), Brennan Jones, and Chloe Jones; great-grandchildren, Conner Coker, Acelynn Martin, Kinsley Martin, Kaysley Lawrence, Asher Jones, Jade Self, Lillian Jones, Sophia Shepherd, and Autumn Martin; and sisters, Bobbie Wilson, Billie Alrousan, Jenie Jones, TJ Burkes, Elise Jones, and Vickie Insco.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jones; parents, Vance and Lucille Jones; and siblings, Allen Jones, Walter Jones, Joann Kimble, and Barbara Moore.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 26, and contined from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 27, at First United Pentecostal Church, 230 Smith St., DeQuincy. Interment followed at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
