Donna Kay Simon was born Feb. 22, 1964, in Tennessee to Jackie Simpson Sr and Anna Van DeWyngearde, and passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, at the age of 60.
When she met her husband, Mark Simon, they traveled the United States in 18 wheelers for years before permanently settling down in Lake Charles.
Donna worked at Black Tie Cleaners up until her retirement. Donna loved to spend time with her family and friends. Donna, also known as Nana, loved to tell it how it is and was unapologetic for it. She gave tough love, but LOVE was always there.
She is survived by her children, Christina Wise, Michael Wise Jr, Chanielle Skipper, and Nicole Simon; grandchildren, Jaymon, Donaven, Jahlissa, Jaymarcus, Jaliyah, Jarvis, Ariahna, Jadah, Boston, Aniyah, Navaeh, and Michael III; a host of nieces and nephews; her brother, Jackie Jr; and her sister, Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Jackie Simpson; sister, Joann Simpson; nephew, Kyle Simpson; and her niece.
Cremation was handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
