DeQuincy Chamber of Commerce held their regularly scheduled meeting, Thursday, Aug. 8, noon at Heritage Place Hotel & Suites meeting room, located at 1028 E. Fourth St.
A new logo creative was approved. Jimmy Henagan and Wise Ideas Printing & Promotions collaborated to come up with the logo that features the DeQuincy Railroad Museum, DeQuincy Memorial Park, a stand of pine trees and a slogan “Moving DeQuincy Forward!”.
All DeQuincy Chamber Members were featured in the recent DeQuincy News Who’s Who Edition published on July 31. This is a resourceful guide, which showcases features and directories on local businesses, industries, clubs, government officials and churches. It is published annually and will be available on dequincynews.com soon as well as distributed at DeQuincy City Hall, DeQuincy Police Department and DeQuincy Railroad Museum to give out to newcomers or persons wishing to know more about DeQuincy.

Annual Chamber Christmas Parade to be held the first Saturday in December along with City Tree Lighting, entertainment at Railroad Museum stage, movie under the stars at the walking path, and fireworks. This year’s parade theme is: “Dickens In DeQuincy”.

The DeQuincy Chamber of Commerce is a a non-profit corporation whose mission is to foster the attraction, development, growth, and promotion of local business in order to improve the lives of the citizenry by advocating positive programs that encourage a strong community, quality jobs, healthy businesses, and an economy that is beneficial to everyone.
A new website is being designed. New bylaws, articles and election of board members are in the works. The four existing officers will be four of the seven Board Members. Three more will be added by submitting three names for the members to vote on at Sept. 12 meeting.
New individual and business members were introduced. They are: Kim Goodman, Shawn Dyer, Canyon Royer, Allison Vanwinkle, Tammy Rutledge, Mason Royer with Coastal Clean, Lake Area Collections, Karen Strickland, KNK Carpentry, Collar & Comb, The Preschool Company, Servpro, Hazel Jackson, Kelly Menou with The DeQuincy Farmers Market.
Members recognized for donation of Bingo prizes are: DeQuincy News, DeQuincy Masonic Lodge #279, Steadham Flooring LLC, Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Toddler Junction, and TPC of DeQuincy.
