THE BOARD of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of DeQuincy, La. met in regular session on June 11, 2024 for the following purpose:
Chairman Jerry McCaig called the meeting to order and upon roll call, those present and absent were as follows:
Present: Jerry McCaig, Lynne Treme, Tamara Scott, Shirley Bagwell, Brooke Burge
Absent: Darlene Hooker, Tracey Brown
A quorum present, the following business was transacted. The minutes from May 16, 2024 were reviewed. Lynne Treme made a motion to approve the minutes and Tamara Scott seconded. Motion carried.
The financial report for April 2024 was presented and discussed. The year-to-date actuals were compared to the year-to-date budget. Lynne Treme made a motion to approve the financial reports as presented and Tamara Scott seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The installation of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in every unit was discussed. Also discussed was the replacement of expired firestops in each unit. Shirley will get quotes for the smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and firestops.
The recent flooding on Logan Lane was discussed. We are getting bids to change the drain system in the back of 3 buildings next to the wooden fence. The maintenance staff filled sand bags and placed at the back of two buildings to help with the flooding for now.
The vacancy report was presented by Brooke Burge.
There being no further business to come before the board, the Chairman thereupon declared the meeting adjourned.
