Recently, our DeQuincy Police Dept. has received reports from our citizens of people coming door to door soliciting or peddling. Canvassing, soliciting, or peddling requires a license from the city to conduct those activities. Please refer those who come to your door to contact City Hall to obtain the proper license to conduct these activities.
Those conducting the soliciting or peddling are in violation of our city ordinance and can be fined. Canvassing, soliciting, and peddling requires the proper registration and certification, and only can be conducted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. If a citizen sees these activities, please report same to the Police Department at 337-786-4000.
