DeQuincy alum Cooper Hext contributed to a majority of scoring for the McNeese Cowboys last Friday in game two of their Southland Conference weekend series against rival Northwestern State.
In the bottom of the 6th with nobody out, Hext hit a solo shot over the right field wall to tie the game up at 1-1. Later in the 8th, Hext singled to right field followed by an RBI single that scored Hext courtesy of teammate Elliot Hebert who gave the Cowboys a 2-1 lead going into the top of the 9th. Unfortunately the Pokes gave up a couple hits and a walk that tied the game 2-2 then a grand slam that gave the Demons a 6-2 lead that the Cowboys could not recover from.
Hext went 2-4 at the plate with the 6th inning homerun being his 3rd of the season!
