Bennie “Ben” Winn Ballard was born Mar. 22, 1936, and passed away Sunday, Mar. 17, 2024, at the age of 87. Ben served his country in the United States Navy. He was a faithful member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church. After several years, Ben retired as a butcher. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Teddy Ballard, Doyle Moore, Ronnie Ballard, and Mike Ballard; brother, William Paul Ballard and wife Kathy; and sister, Mary Stepherson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ballard; son, Donnie Ballard; parents, William and Pauline Ballard; sisters, Trudy Spradling, Billie Young, and Janey Ballard; and brothers, Dan Ballard and Leo Ballard.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Mar. 21, at Abernathy Cemetery in Abernathy, Texas.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
