South Beau defeats DeQuincy

The DeQuincy Tigers played their rival the South Beauregard Golden Knights on the Baseball diamond last Tuesday. The game was rather close most of the way up until the 5th inning when the Knights pulled away.

Andrew Dowden led the hitting going 2-4 with two singles including an RBI, Diron Valentine and Hayz Hext both went 1-2 with each a single.

South Beauregard 6 – DeQuincy 1

DeQuincy Plasters Leesville

The Tigers got off to a slow start being down 4-0 until the 4th inning when the bats came to life and capitalizing on some Leesville errors. DeQuincy run-ruled the Wampus Cats 14-4 in 6 innings. Leading the hitting on the night were Quentin Pharris going 2-2, Hayz Hext went 2-3 with an RBI Double, Carson Rainwater went 2-3, and Turner Rodriguez went 2-5.

Carson Rainwater recorded 9 strikeouts on the night.

DeQuincy 14 – Leesville 4

Stranded Runners on Base

The Tigers took on the DeRidder Dragons for the second time this season but this time in the Rosepine tournament this past Saturday.

Turner Rodriguez was great on the mound recording 6 strikeouts and his teammates backing him up.

Unfortunately DeQuincy had bases loaded in the 4th with a chance to at least tie the game but DeRidder battled back with a couple of strike outs and a routine fly out to deny the Tigers’ rally.

Rahley Royer led the Tigers in hitting going 2-3 with two singles, Andrew Dowden and Turner Rodriguez both went 1-3.

Rodriguez recorded 6 strikeouts on the day.
