James “Jim” Parker was born Sept. 15, 1948, and passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, at the age of 75.
He is survived by his children, Sundee Hunt, James Parker II, and Whitney Parker; grandchildren, Tell Hunt, Joshua Hunt, William Hunt, and Troy Hunt; one great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Jeanie Parker and husband, Arkie, John “Porky” Parker and wife, Janice, Randy Parker and wife, Veronica, and Jason Parker and wife, Laurie; and his dog, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Parker; and his parents, James Calvin Parker and Revanel Parker.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. in DeQuincy. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Interment followed at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
