Buford Pickering was born Aug. 9, 1953, and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at the age of 70.
He is survived by his children, Sam Pharris and wife, Marissa, Meme Hess and husband, Tim, and Jolie Perkins and husband, Buddy; grandchildren, Joshua Dannhim and wife, Kristina, Tye Hess (Hannah), Tate Hess, Caston Perkins, and Caylor Perkins; great-grandchildren, Ruby Dannhim and Koen Hess; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Maria “Jo” Pickering; and siblings, James Pickering, Nancy Martin, and Lisa McDonald.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Funeral services were at held 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct.15, at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Bancroft. Rev. Mike Streams and Rev. Jimmy Clark officiated. Interment followed at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
