“Nana Merle” Rainwater was born Nov. 26, 1934, and passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the age of 88.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Doyle and husband, Timothy, Cheryl Johnson and husband, Anthony, Loy Keith Rainwater and wife, Cecilia, Marion Kay Hoosier and husband, Claude, and Kyle Rainwater; grandchildren, Jana Remedies, Natalie Remedies, Elysha Prudhomme, Davo Johnson, Laci Johnson, Joel Hunter Johnson, Bryan Keith Rainwater, Keeley Miller, Luke Rainwater, Jake Rainwater, Josie Rainwater, Kathy Trahan, Ronda Fenton, Thomas Buxton, Patti Matthews, and Paula Henderson; and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Rainwater; son, Ken Rainwater; parents, Theodore Jamison and Lovey Elizabeth Sheard Jamison; and siblings, Grover Marse, Barbara Westner, and Joyce Mae Frances.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, July 15, at First Pentecostal Church in Starks. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Sunday, July 16, at First Pentecostal Church. Pastor Karl Smith officiated. Interment followed at Miller Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
