18 wheeler wreck on Fourth Street

By Major Jerry Bell, Public Affairs Officer

Around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, the DeQuincy Police Department, along with the DeQuincy Fire Department, Ward Six Fire Department, and Acadian Ambulance responded to an 18 wheeler wreck across from the dollar store. The 18 wheeler apparently pulled out onto Fourth St. and was struck by a smaller vehicle.

Fortunately there were no serious injuries in this wreck between a large vehicle and a smaller one. Captain Doug Phillips investigated the wreck. Chief Roy Williams, LTC Annajo Haynes, and Major Jerry Bell assisted in traffic control. Within several minutes the road was cleared and traffic resumed.
