CITY OF DEQUINCY
ORDINANCE NO. 951
THE CITY Council of the City of DeQuincy, State of Louisiana, met in regular session on the 12th day of June, 2023, and adopted the following Ordinance regarding the purchase of immovable property from Gravity Drainage District Number Six of Wards Five and Six of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy has an opportunity to purchase land from Gravity Drainage District Number Six of Wards Five and Six of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The acquisition of this property would be beneficial to the City of DeQuincy for drainage matters.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that Mayor Riley Smith is hereby authorized to execute an Act of Cash Sale from Gravity Drainage District Number Six of Wards Five and Six of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana and to pay unto Gravity Drainage Number Six of Wards Five and Six of Calcasieu Parish the price and sum of $30,000.00 in cash upon proper execution and delivery of the said Act of Cash Sale. The property to be purchased by the City of DeQuincy is described as follows:
Commencing at the Southwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of Section 23, Township 7 South, Range 11 West, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana; thence North 01˚13’44” East, a distance of 165.19feet; thence South 89˚ 52’ 50” East a distance of 129.88 feet to the Point of Beginning; thence North 00˚ 09’ 20: East a distance of 422.00 feet to the beginning of a curve to the left: thence along said curve to the left having a chord bearing of North 89˚ 52’ 50” West, a distance of 208.70 feet, and having a radius of 1,000 feet back to the Point of Beginning. Containing 87,30251 square feet or 2.00 acres, more or less.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Mayor Riley Smith is hereby authorized to execute any and all other papers, documents and acts necessary to complete the purchase of the above described property by the provisions as he in his discretion deems meet and proper.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall become effective immediately.
This Ordinance was declared duly adopted this 12th day of June, 2023.
