Clara Lou Matura was born Dec. 17, 1941, and passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the age of 81.
She is survived by her son, George P Goodman ll and wife, Peggy; daughter, Marci Lynette Merecka and husband, Gary; six grandchildren, James Paul Goodman, Aaron David Goodman, Eric Troy Weigt Jr., Zachary Dylon Weigt, Andrew Paul Weigt, and Jordan James Weigt; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Matura; father, Lewis Newsom; mother, Dale Hicks; and son, James Clayton Goodman.
The pallbearers were her six grandsons listed above.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Bay City Baptist Church. Pastor Lee Watson officiated. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
