Cheryl Lynn Nunez Edwards was born Feb. 26, 1960, and passed away Saturday, Apr. 22, 2023, at the age of 63. Cheryl loved everyone and always saw the goodness in people. Her calling was giving food and clothing to the homeless as she witnessed to them, sharing the gospel. She had a distinctive and infectious laugh and her smile lit up the room as soon as she walked in. She loved her family, being “Grams” and “Aunt Cheryl”.
She is survived by her children, Chris Fulton and Penny Edwards; grandchildren, Camryn, Caleb, Luke and Madison; Father, Alvaro Nunez, Sr. and wife, Dolores; siblings, Bert Nunez and wife, Lisa, Samuel Nunez and wife, Elizabeth, and Penny Coriell and husband, James; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lela Pendley Nunez Jones.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. with the funeral service following at 7 p.m., Thursday, Apr. 27, at The Sanctuary. Graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Friday Apr. 28, at Resthaven Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
