Blanche Jones

Blanche Jones, 72, was born Jan. 1, 1951 and passed away Thursday, Apr. 20, 2023.

Blanche loved everything about the beach. Her many vacations at the beach were always a highlight and especially when her grandchildren were able to join her. Some of her fondest memories were getting to collect seashells, fish, and help the grandkids build sand castles.

She was a devoted wife to the love of her life, AC, for 48 years. Their love carried them through the ups and downs of life, and they made many beautiful memories together. She was a loving mother and caretaker of her son, Brian for 30 years. They were both blessed to have each other.

She also raised two beautiful girls, that she was extremely proud of. She played volleyball as a teenager and some in her thirties also. She coached high school volleyball for a few years, and absolutely loved the girls on her team and they adored her. Anyone that knew her, knew about her selfless, never wavering, unconditional, love and commitment to taking care of Brian.

She forfeited so many of the normal things in life, and chose love. A love that would outlive him, and a love that would carry us on in her absence. When heavens gates opened for her in the early hours of Apr. 20th, no doubt Brian was standing there, healed and whole to welcome her in. This was a day that she dreamed of.

So in our sadness we take comfort in knowing that they are together once again. No more pain, no more sickness or sadness. We are only left with the beautiful example of selfless dedication, generosity, sacrifice, and unconditional love that she showed us was possible. We are forever grateful.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Jones; daughters, Shana Wells and husband, Thomas and Dayna Lantrip Wynne; grandchildren, Spencer, Cheyenne, and Dakota; great-granddaughter, Paisley; mother, Lorine Redig; brother, Donald Redig; sisters, Shana Redig and Quita Driver; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by sons, Chad Jones and Brian Jones; father, William Henn; stepfather, Donald Lee Redig; and sister, Kerry.

The family received friends from 10-11 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11 a.m., Monday, Apr. 24, at Bethel Tabernacle.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
