DeQuincy vs. Vinton

DeQuincy defeats Vinton in low-acoring affair.

Both teams were strong on the rubber Tuesday, but DeQuincy defeated Vinton 3-1. Gabby Lafferty allowed just three hits to Vinton.

Lafferty was the winning pitcher for DeQuincy. The righthander surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out six.

J O’conner started the game for Vinton. The hurler surrendered three runs on six hits over six innings, striking out nine.

DeQuincy racked up six hits. Adah Doucet and Baileigh Kellogg both had two hits for DeQuincy.

DeQuincy was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Doucet made the most plays with six.

DeQuincy had 4 steals on the day.

DeQuincy vs. Notre Dame

Despite strong fight, DeQuincy can’t top Notre Dame.

DeQuincy fought back after falling down by 11 runs in the third inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 12-10 defeat to Notre Dame on Thursday. DeQuincy put up ten runs in the failed comeback.

Ashlyn Bullitt, Kamryn Mitchell, Adah Doucet, Baileigh Kellogg, Kellogg, and Katie Willis picked up RBIs to lead the rally.

DeQuincy couldn’t keep up with Notre Dame early in the game. Notre Dame scored on a double by Valerie Brown, an error, a single by Addy Gautreaux, a double by Keleigh Spell, an error, a single by Brown, and a double by Gabby Boudreaux in the first inning.

DeQuincy notched six runs in the fourth inning. DeQuincys offense in the inning came from doubles by Mitchell and Kellogg, a walk by Bullitt, and an error on a ball put in play by Doucet.

Gabby Lafferty led things off on the rubber for DeQuincy. The pitcher went six innings, allowing 12 runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.

Notre Dame launched two home runs on the day. Brown had a long ball in the third inning. Annabelle Pitts had a four bagger in the fourth inning.

DeQuincy Lady Tigers Varsity racked up ten hits in the game. Willis had multiple hits. Kellogg led the way going 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the Lady Tigers in hits.
