Frankie Goos

Frankie Gene Goos was born Aug. 1, 1942 and passed away Saturday, Mar. 11, 2023 at the age of 80.

Frankie was born and raised in Moss Bluff on Goos Ferry, worked in the oil field for over 50 years, then retired in DeQuincy. He enjoyed cooking, smoking sausage, and making boudin. Frankie was a professional story teller and helped others anytime he could. Most of all he loved being with his family and having family gatherings.

He is survived by his children, Tina Lyles and husband, Johnnie, Kelly Phillips and husband, Charlie, Angie Miller and husband, Jason, Coby Goos and fiance, Page; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and sister, Fern Veuleman.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sherry Goos; daughter, Gina Driver; granddaughter, Haley Hardesty, parents, Patrick McCoy and Lena Mae Goos; sister, Evelyn Casey Reeves; and brother, Patrick “Bozo” Goos.

Pallbearers were Braiden Hardesty, Justin Gorham, Gage LeBlanc, Kade Goos, Matt Lyles, Gavin Phillips, Lane Goos.

The family received friends from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 14 with the funeral service starting at 1 p.m. at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Pastor Greg Cavenah officiated. Interment followed at Goos Cemetery in Moss Bluff.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
