Laben “Butsie” Templet, Sr. was born Apr. 16, 1951, and passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at the age of 71.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Templet; children, Laben Templet, Jr. and companion, Kristie Doucet, Tim Templet, and Sharon Templet and fiancée, Shane Parker; grandchildren, Paiton Mire and husband, Nate, Jaydan Templet, Maddi Harrison, Rayleigh Templet, Tristin Templet, Camron Taylor and wife, Laiken, and Chandler Taylor; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Judy Powell and husband, James; and his beloved pet, Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Phillips and Irene Templet Phillips; grandson, Charles Taylor, III; grandson-in-law, Travis “Bowie” Andrepont; and his grandmother, Lily Phillips.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral in DeQuincy.
Visitation will continue from 9-11 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Neyland will be officiating. Interment to follow at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy.
