Geraldine A. Turner, 94, was born Sept. 26, 1927 and passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2022. She loved singing gospel music and was even on a 78 record. Watching the golf channel and the Price is Right was her past time. Every morning she’d visit the senior center and she enjoyed playing the penny machines at the casino. Most of all she loved her family and going to family celebrations.
She is survived by her son, James Gill Turner and wife, Sonya; grandchildren, Wendy Vine and husband, Paul, Jennifer Lee and husband, John, Chandra Shoalmire and husband, Ryan, Clay Shaw Turner and wife, Christa Wilbanks, Jamie Gill Turner and wife, Ann Marie; along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Donald Shaw Turner; children, Bod E. Turner and Mary Turner; grandchild, Cheree Dempsey; and her parents, Tom B. and Faye Banning Anthony.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, at Harris Chapel in Beckville, Texas.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th St., DeQuincy.
