U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) on Friday, Aug. 26, announced the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will grant Louisiana a total of $18,743,619 in relief as a result of Hurricanes Laura and Ida.
Specifically, this grant will help repair critical highway infrastructure that was damaged in the storms. This funding comes from the DOT’s Emergency Relief Program in fiscal year 2022.
The grants awarded along with the recipient/agency and project description are listed below:
$1,400,845 – U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: This grant will provide federal funding for highway infrastructure repairs as a result of Hurricane Laura.
$9,020,098 – Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development: This grant will provide federal funding for highway infrastructure repairs as a result of Hurricane Laura.
$8,322,676 – Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Develpment: This grant will provide federal funding for highway infrastructure repairs as a result of Hurricane Ida.
