Inmate struck by vehicle on Highway 12

On Friday Morning, Aug. 26, A Dept. of Corrections inmate, while working on the street crew was stuck by a vehicle which had left the road on LA 12 by the hospital curve. The inmate was taken to the hospital and is doing good at this time. Several citizens have inquired about what had happened. The inmate is expected to recover from his injuries.

All our citizens are asked to be extra careful when they pass any of our street crews working along the highway. They are dressed in bright orange shirts and should be easily seen. This was an accident that involved a vehicle striking a DOC inmate.
