Wylies named ‘Sauce Bosses’ at first annual event

The DeQuincy Community ACTS Foundation held its first annual “Boss of the Sauce” Sauce Piquante Cook-off event on Saturday, June 25, at the DeQuincy Railroad Museum.

Winners are announced as follows:

First place winners were Scott Wylie and C.J. Wylie on Team Black Iron Bandits, who were presented with a 12 quart Lodge Dutch Oven from Nichols. The Wylies graciously donated the prize valued at $100 back to the event.

Second place winner was James Nash, who received a $75 cash prize. Third place winner was Saul Wilson on Team The Blood Line.

Other cook-off participants were Kevin Jordan and Trent Buxton.

Vendors included Robert Jack, Two Grannies Kitchen Jellies and a Coca Cola Booth.

Judges were Sgt. Annajo Haynes and Officer Randy Henry with DeQuincy Police Department and Rev. James Harris with Evergreen Baptist Church.
