On Sunday, June 26, at approx. 0451, DeQuincy police officers were dispatched to Brookshire Brothers for a rear motion alarm. A subject in dark clothing was observed running to the south from the back of the store. Attempts were made to locate that subject. Lt. Loy Bader and Corporal Dalton Stains cleared the store.
Apparently, the subjects used a crowbar and a Sawzall to enter the business. The subjects entered on the southeast part of the store. Also, the subjects, two men in black hoodies, attempted to cut an opening near the pharmacy.
DQPD alerted surrounding police agencies that have Brookshire stores. Items will be sent to the Calcasieu Crime lab for DNA analysis. Captain Doug Phillips, assisted by Chief Casey Whitehead and Major Jerry Bell will be the investigators in this matter. Investigation continues in this matter.
