Pearl Steinkuehler

Pearl Steinkuehler was born July 11, 1933, and passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at the age of 88.

Pearl was born in Orange, Texas but raised in Houston. She met her husband, the love of her life, Dwain Steinkuehler at Wayland Baptist University. She was a pastor’s wife for over sixty years working along side her husband as part of the ministry. She was a school teacher and helped start a Christian school in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was President of the Women’s Missionary Union for the Northern Plains.

Pearl co-authored seven books. She was passionate about Mary Kay, a collector of dolls, bells, salt and pepper shakers, nativity sets and antiques in general. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved spending time with the ladies. She was also involved with Discovery International students at Texas A & M.

Pearl was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved people and everyone loved her. She loved her family but most of all, she loved the Lord.

She is survived by her children, Miriam Butler and husband, Rev Ron Butler, Lydia Boudreaux and husband, Kenny and John Steinkuehler; and two grandchildren, Alicia Butler and Chris Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwain Steinkuehler; parents, William Jackson and Elinder Brown Jackson; sister, Mary Fern Frazier; and brothers, Bill Jackson, Jessie Smith, Leon Smith and Dan Smith.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. and the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, at First Baptist Church, located at 128 Hwy 109 S., Starks.

A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Odd Fellow Cemetery, Anderson, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, at First Baptist Church, located at 3100 Cambridge Dr., Bryan, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, Post Office Box 3000, Boone NC 28607

Arrangements will be handled by Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
