Katelin Danielle Says was born Jan. 14, 1999 and passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the age of 23.
She is survived by her son, Kashten Says-Foil; father, Phillip Says and wife, Karen Jo; sisters Kandice Says, Valarie Royer and husband, Jon, Madison Deen, Dakota Benefield and Natalie Parks; brother, Darrell Parks; grandparents, John and Mary Says, Sammy and Ruth Sparks and Pearl and Nellie Steele; great-grandparents, Laverne Says and Loraine Bates; along with numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Samantha Says; grandparents, Pamela Barks and Debbie Peveto; uncle, Johnathon “Bubba” Says; and great-grandfather, Clifton “Nade” Says.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 20, and from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. The visitation and funeral were held at First Pentecostal Church, 225 Hwy. 109 S, Starks,. Pastor Karl Smith officiated. Interment followed at the VFW Cemetery in Starks.
A special thank you to Katelin’s caretakers, aunts, Misty (MiMi) Barks and Emily Says; and grandparents, John and Mary Says; along with Amedisys Hospice Care for the excellent compassionate care they provided for Katelin.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
