DeQuincy vs. Rosepine

DeQuincy falls to Rosepine. DeQuincy stayed in it until the end, but Rosepine pulled away late in an 11-2 victory on Monday. The game was tied at two with Rosepine batting in the top of the fifth when Grant Ducote doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

DeQuincy struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Rosepine, giving up 11 runs.

DeQuincy got things moving in the first inning, when Reese Ashworth grounded into a double play, but still managed to knock in one run.

Ashworth took the loss for DeQuincy. Ashworth surrendered five runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out four.

DeQuincy hit one home run on the day. Ashworth put one out in the fourth inning.

Gavin Gary, Ashworth, and Drew Duhon each collected one hit to lead DeQuincy.

DeQuincy vs. Oakdale

DeQuincy overcomes Oakdale in face of early 3-run inning.

Oakdale scored three runs in the sixth inning, but DeQuincy still won 9-5 on Thursday.

DeQuincy got on the board in the second inning. Jacob LeBlanc hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

DeQuincy notched four runs in the fifth inning. Carson Rainwater, LeBlanc, and Jace Puryear powered the big inning with RBIs.

Sammy Maddox was the winning pitcher for DeQuincy. The pitcher went five and a third innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out four. Drew Duhon threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Maddox went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead DeQuincy in hits.
