Evelyn Phillips

Evelyn Hollie Phillips, a resident of Starks, passed away Monday, Mar. 14, 2022 at her residence.

Evelyn was lovingly known to many as “Aunt Pee Wee”. Evelyn loved the outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing, working in her flowers, feeding her humming birds and doves. Her biscuits were the best! She was a wonderful seamstress and her welding caps have been worn by many across the country. She was very outgoing and she loved to travel. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald Phillips; four sons, Darcy Phillips and wife, Barbara, Barry Phillips and wife, Jennifer, Phil Phillips and wife, Miranda, Dirk Phillips and wife, Christi; eleven grandchildren, Dylan Phillips and wife, Sheena, Jared Phillips and wife, Angel, Tod Phillips and wife, Karrie, Megan Sparks and husband, Chris, R. J. Phillips, and wife, Alicen, Claire Phillips, Tanner Phillips, Parker Phillips, Kirsten Phillips, Brett Phillips, Blane Phillips; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Penny Phillips; parents, William and Jessie Dick Hollie; four brothers and three sisters; one grandchild, Carissa Phillips; and one great-grandchild, Willow Phillips.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Mar.17, and the funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Mar. 18. The visitation and funeral were held at Calvary Apostolic Church, 4270 Hwy. 12, Starks. Interment followed at Fountain Cemetery in Starks.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
