Michael Ray Suydam Sr., 80, a resident of Lake Charles and Ragley, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in an Arkansas Hospital.
He was a member of Saint Pius X Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Golden Harvesters.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Turner Suydam; children, Michael Suydam Jr., Cheryl Augustine and husband Neal, Monica LeBlanc and husband Eugene, Melissa Mele and husband Patrick, John Suydam and wife Regina, and Jason Suydam; sister, Joyce Mattix; brother, Bob Suydam; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Americus Suydam Sr. and Louise Boudreaux Suydam; son, Charles Suydam; daughter, Debra Rawson; and one brother.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, May 10, at the Saint Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey Starkovich officiating and Monsignor Charles Dubois as the Homilist. Burial followed at New Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles.
