Sherry Paris

Sherry Ann Hardwick Paris, 84, of Moss Bluff died Wednesday, Apr. 7, 2021 at Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta, Ga.

Born in Brownsboro, Texas, she moved to Louisiana as a child and lived most of her life in Slagle and Leesville in Vernon Parish. She is a graduate of Leesville High School.

She earned her Bachelor in Education degree from LSU, and her Master of Education degree and advanced graduate certificate from Northwestern State University. As an elementary school teacher and curriculum supervisor, she dedicated her life’s work to the children of Vernon Parish. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Moss Bluff. Before relocating to Moss Bluff in 2008, she was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on numerous committees.

She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Nita Anne Paris (Sylvia) of Acworth, Ga.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Hardwick of Fields and Dale Hardwick of Slagle.

She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Juanita Hardwick; husband Ted Lynn Paris; son, Michael Lynn Paris; and one brother.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, Apr. 15, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Bluff and on Thursday, Apr. 15, from 7-9 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Leesville.Her service will be held at First Baptist Church of Leesville on Friday, Apr. 16, at 10 a.m. with her nephew, Executive Pastor Rick Hardwick of Point Church in Church Point officiating. Burial will follow at Leesville Cemetery in Leesville.

Arrangements are being handled by Collins Funeral Home in Acworth, Ga. and Jeane’s Funeral Service in Leesville.
