DeQuincy 3, Westlake 2 – Tigers claimed the lead in the sixth inning to defeat Westlake.

The Tigers took the lead late and defeated Westlake 3-2 on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Tigers batting in the top of the sixth when Gavin Gary hit into a fielder’s choice and one run scored.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Tigers pitchers struck out 12, while Westlake pitchers struck out just one.

Gunner Gearen pitched Tigers to victory. Gearen allowed three hits and two runs over six innings, striking out ten.

Hadley Cooley picked up his first save of the season with one inning in relief, striking out two.

Reese Ashworth, Hadley Cooley, and Rayden Rosalis each collected one hit to lead Tigers.

Jake Pharris was brilliant on the mound last Wednesday, as he threw a no-hitter striking out nine to lead the Tigers past Pine Prairie. 7-0.

The Tigers secured the victory thanks to four runs in the first inning. Sammy Maddox, Rayden Rosalis, Jacob Goodfriend, and Traive Goutreaux all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Tigers collected six hits in the game. Goutreaux and Goodfriend each managed two hits to lead the Tigers.

The Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 14-2 loss to Lutcher on Saturday.

The Tigers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Lutcher, giving up 14 runs.

Reese Ashworth took the loss for the Tigers. Ashworth allowed eight hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Gavin Gary, Sammy Maddox, Hadley Cooley, and Traive Goutreaux all had one hit for the Tigers.

The Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-0 loss to Iowa on Thursday.

One bright spot for the Tigers was a single by Gavin Gary in the first inning.

Hadley Cooley took the loss for the Tigers. Cooley surrendered four runs on five hits over five innings, striking out eight.

Gary, Sammy Maddox, and Reese Ashworth all had one hit for the Tigers.
