Carol Parker

Carol Ellen Parker, 57, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Sulphur for 39 years.

Born in Glen Dale, W. Va., she was the daughter of Don and Nancy Baker. In youth Carol was active in 4-H and twice showed the Marshall County Grand Champion Steer. She graduated from John Marshall High School and Belmont Technical College. Carol was a long time employee of the United States Postal Service as a Rural Carrier and she loved her job.

Carol was a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved watching her WV Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Steelers, LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.

Carol is survived by her husband of 34 wonderful years, James (Jim) Parker of Sulphur; her son, James Parker II of Sulphur; daughter, Whitney Parker of Bossier City; step-daughter, Sundee (Parker) Hunt and children Tell and Summer Hunt, Joshua Hunt, William Hunt and Troy Hunt, all of Longville; mother, Nancy Baker of Glen Dale, W. Va.; siblings, Angela and Tim Merinar of Morgantown, W. Va., Nancy Jean Baker, Don and Diana Baker, Mark Baker, all of Glen Dale, W. Va.; and many many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Don Baker.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Alvin Royce Bailey will be officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
