The City Council of the City of DeQuincy met in emergency session on Thursday,aragraph September 10, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. at the DeQuincy Police Station, 101 S. Pine Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana with the following members present: Judy Landry, Daisy Cole, Ronda Jacobs, Denise Maddox, and Mark Peloquin. Absent: None.
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Mark Peloquin and the roll was called with the above result.
There was no public input.
A motion was made by Denise Maddox and seconded by Daisy Cole to adopt an emergency ordinance for all Department Heads, First Responders (i.e. Police Officers and fire Fighters), Public Works Personnel and City Hall Personnel, working during and after Hurricane Laura, or any other future state of emergencies, to be paid hazardous pay as set forth below:
Department Heads:$50.00 per hour starting the date they went on duty after Hurricane Laura or other state of emergency
Fire Department: $45.00 per hour for hours worked
Public Works Department: $45.00 per hour for employees for hours worked
Police Department: $45.00 per hour for officers actively on duty, other than Chief City Hall Personnel: $45.00 per hour for hours worked
These salaries shall be paid from the date of the emergency and shall remain in effect until the state of emergency is lifted. Contingent to funds becoming available, each will receive a supplemental check reflecting this pay scale. Motion carried as follows:
Yeas: Judy Landry, Daisy Cole, Mark Peloquin, Denise Maddox and Ronda Jacobs.
Nays: None.
Absent: None. Abstain: None.
There being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Denise Maddox and seconded Ronda Jacobs to adjourn the meeting.
