DeQuincy defeated Merryville 12-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Sammy Maddox collected four hits in four at bats to help lead DeQuincy to victory. Maddox singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, and tripled in the fifth.
DeQuincy got on the board in the first inning. Maddox singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
DeQuincy notched five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Gavin Gary, Maddox, Reese Ashworth, and Carson Rainwater.
Gavin Gary got the win for DeQuincy. Gary gave up zero runs on two hits pitching three innings, striking out five. Jacob LeBlanc threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
DeQuincy totaled 12 hits in the game. Maddox, LeBlanc, Rainwater, and Gary all managed multiple hits for the Tigers.
