Jodie McFatter, 88, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, as her Lord and Savior called her home. She was a long time resident of Sulphur.
Jodie was born Oct. 16, 1934, to Cloyd Orville and Pansy Erline (Watson) Hopkins in Columbia. She was a graduate of Rayville High School and LSU. After graduating LSU, she accepted a teaching position in DeQuincy, where she met the love of her life, Edward “Ed” McFatter. Jodie continued her education earning a master’s degree from McNeese State University while teaching and raising her children. She worked at multiple schools in Calcasieu Parish, spending her final years before retirement at Frasch Elementary. n her spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing cards or board games, crafting, sewing, and completing puzzles.
