Theresa Jackson

On Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, the sweet spirit of our dear sister went to join our Savior in a precious home not built with hands but whose maker and builder is God. Our loving Theresa Ann Rhodes Jackson, was born on Jan. 6, 1974, to the parentage of John and Mary Mayer Rhodes, in Lake Charles. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a former member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church in Lake Charles until she relocated to Lafayette. Theresa was a graduate of Barbe High School and went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was loyal and dutiful employee of Lake Charles Care Center for many years. Theresa was an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother sister and friend, who cared for those she loved. Theresa had a great love for praying, singing, dancing, studying the universe, fishing and politics.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Roman Rhodes; and siblings, John Richard Rhodes and Arthur James Halls.

Theresa will forever be loved and cherished by her mother, Mary Mayer; five loving children, Sherry Rhodes, Jameka Rhodes, twins, Shaydriana Rhodes (Damond Ledoux) and Alexander Rhodes (Shondreka Levier) and Malcolm Rhodes; her loving grandchildren, Malcolm, Alexis, Alexander, Ayden, Princeton, Royal, Arriana, Malachi, Jayda and Jalayah Rhodes, Amyira and Brian Flott, Azyrah and Jordan Levier; siblings, Anthony Rhodes, Mary Allen, Gilbert Rhodes, Earl Rhodes, Robert (Annette) Rhodes, Carolyn Rhodes, Barbara Rhodes, Patrick (Lisa) Rhodes, Linda Rhodes, Michael (Lana) Rhodes; loving cousin, Tammie Dean Thomas of California and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family received friends from 9-11 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at Solomons Temple Ministries in Lake Charles.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
