Sara Hext Worthington was born Dec. 12, 1965, and passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at the age of 60.
She is survived by her father, Rev Jerry Hext; mother, Christa Hext; husband, Dennis Worthington; children, Jeffrey Hext and wife Lizzy, Sabrina Williams and husband Doug, Daniel Worthington and wife Heather, Lisa Perkins and husband Robert, Ashley Williams and boyfriend Lee, and Quinten Williams and wife Bridgette; 27 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Jerry Hext Jr. and wife Michelle, and Ginger Burcher and husband Lynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Red and Sara Hext, and Ludwyg and Paula Seban; grandchild, Esmond Blossom; and numerous aunts and uncles.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 3, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Visitation resumed Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mark Schultz officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made directly to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
