Betty Sue West was born on Jan. 29, 1939, and passed away on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, at the age of 87.
She is survived by her children, Mikel West and wife Monica and Lisa Robin West Stanley and husband Phillip “Frog”; grandchildren, Jerry Mikel West, Tia Overstreet and husband James, and Jimmy Stanley and wife Courtney; great-grandchildren, Miles, Kennedie, Cody, and Jude; one sibling, Dennis Gibson; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Frank and Grace Gibson; husband, Jerry M. West; grandson, Drake Lee West; siblings, Mary, Margaret, Anne “PeeWee”, John “Shorty”, Billy, Ruth, Kenneth, and Edna.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 1 p.m., until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., at Riley Smith & Sons in DeQuincy. Interment will follow at V.F.W. Cemetery, in Starks.
Arrangements will be handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
