Yevette D. Cole was born on Feb. 14, 1970, and passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the age of 56.
She had a strong faith and loved talking about Jesus and reading the Bible. She also enjoyed fishing, painting, and eating Chinese food, which was her favorite.
Yevette was an avid writer. One of her poems was published in the Library of Congress. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandbabies. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Cole (Tamra), Chris Babcock, Brent Conway (Michael), Brandon Babcock, and Mark Babcock (Taylor); grandchildren, Arabella Cole, Addison Cole, and Zander Babcock; sister, Mary Short.
She was preceded in passing by her mother, Gloria Kibodeaux Cole; fiancé, Robbie Thibodeaux; brother, Alton Kibodeaux, Jr.
The family received friends Friday, June 12, from 5-8 p.m., at Riley Smith & Sons in DeQuincy. Visitation resumed Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m., until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. Rev. Mike Streams officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
