John Fallaw

John “David” Fallaw of DeQuincy was born on June 1, 1959, and passed away, after many years of kidney disease, peacefully surrounded by his family, on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the age of 67.

David graduated from DeQuincy High School in 1977. He was employed by Billups gas station and Andrepont Hydro Blasting early on and worked as an electrician by trade at Lake Charles Electric before retiring from instrumentation in Conoco.

David was a loving and devoted family man who cherished his loved ones above all else. He was known for his generous spirit and selfless heart, always ready to give of himself without hesitation.

Though he could be a little stubborn at times, that same determination showed his strong will and deep care for those around him.

He enjoyed fishing the most, and hunting ducks and deer, and spent a few years alligator hunting as well. He loved gardening. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Anise Fallaw; sister, Joanne Burnett (Larry); brother, Thomas Fallaw (Dottie); nieces and nephews, Amy Perkins, Amanda Tompkins (Jody) Joel Burnett, Jason Fallaw, Jon Fallaw (Brittany), and Julia Carnley (Shawn); numerous great nieces and nephews; best friend/brother, Kirk Bertrand (Connie).

He was preceded in passing by his father, Fred Fallaw.

The family received friends Friday, June 12, from 11 a.m., until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., at Riley Smith & Sons in DeQuincy. Rev. Donald Main officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
